Southern Illusion's top story today - Card is W's Conscience

There isn't a link up yet, but the top of the Southern Illinoisan's front page today is the headline,
Chief of staff 'has to be a conscience'
There has been a conscience in the White House for the last 6 years? Could have fooled me.

A couple of guys who work here at BoundlessGallery.com went and said it was an interesting talk.

They thought the Southern's headline was bogus.

I heard from a learned professor that it was a load of crap - sort of "Fox News brings you another apologist for the Bush administration."

I am told a serviceman who served 2 tours in Iraq asked, "Our job seemed to be riding around in Humvees waiting to get shot. How much longer is this going to go on?"

The answer involved the Constitution, Betsy Ross, the Civil War, and how some things don't happen quickly.

I wish I were there for the followup: "Brilliant answer - I hope that some day you will get a question to which it applies."
