Just found this little tidbit about how American's are doing economically.
You will be happy to know that the Republican party has done exactly what they promised in the last 3 or 4 elections. Taxes are down for the rich and the very rich are richer. The poor are poorer. The middle class is being destroyed slowly, but surely. We have become the nation with the worst foreign policy in the world. The nation debt is way up, the government is much bigger, civil rights are curtailed, the President has ordered spying on American Citizens without a warrant and publicly endorsed inhumane treatment for our prisoners (I'm sure he doesn't think that others should treat Americans inhumanly?). Iraq has become a cross between Vietnam and Yugoslavia mostly because of American mismanagement. We have done nothing about fixing our national energy problems. You have to wonder how much longer we are going to lose our manufacturing base because our healthcare costs are completely out of control? Looking back to 1993, you have to wonder if the Clintons didn't have it right.
Wall Street, big multi-national corporations and oil companies are all seeing record profits.
The good news is the religious right feels so good about their assault on abortion rights they are moving on to contraception next.
Here is to four more years of Republican majorities in the US Congress. They told you what they were going to do and now they are doing it. At least they were telling the truth.
Make me wonder if maybe we couldn't do better, but hey my taxes are way down for now.

Go back and listen to GW's first presidential debates. He scared the bejezus out of everyone harping about how Social Security was some kind of black hole that would suck us into ruin in a few years and he was gonna fix it. Classic Karl Rove tatic of using FEAR to motivate voters to act. Well, it worked and he got elected. 9/11 HELPED by giving new steam to the FEAR attak on the American public. You'll still hear it today in what our President says.
