DE story about some bank's "gift" to Saluki Way is just a joke. We know now they gave $200k and not $450k. I have to object to anyone calling it a gift. It isn't a gift, it is a payment for the purchase of advertising. I think it is great that SIUC can get the money for advertising and hope they get lots more. My objection is calling it a gift.
Let me go further and state that is seems unethical to call this kind of business arrangement a gift. It would be interesting to see how long that bank got on their advertising deal and if they are paying the same amount they have always paid.
