$.09 per song? Anyone tried LegalSounds.com?

Found this surfing today and it seems to good to be true. Running out of Russia, which can't be a good sign can it?

Anyone tried it? If this is real, doesn't iTunes have a problem?

I haven't tried that site but an older site with a truly massive collection is

http://www.allofmp3.com/

Check ENG for English version. They charge based on bandwith. Beatles, "Let it Be" album cost $1.50 (12 cents/song at 192kbps quality). You can pay less or more by adjusting the quality you download. You can even get CD audio quality. Most people do not save their tunes on mp3 players at 192 but much lower.

This is a Russian-based site. It works (trust me). And it has truly rare albums from old stuff to the present.

As always, caveat emptor.

I hope itunes goes down the tubes anyway. Apple has the biggest scam going with their overrated players, cheesy earbuds, and limits on use of downloads. Plus, if I recall, you can only use the Apple music format and have to convert other files to it.

I don't know which sucks more -- Microsoft for its dated bloatware (they are advertising to get people to update Office 97 to that rocking 'new' Office 2003!) OR Apple with its "any way you want it, as long as it's through us, for us, and you overpay. The company's popularity with kids is keeping a price umbrella over other players and formats. Personally, I'd recommend Creative.com -- they are the company that DOES computer sound.

Regardless of whether it's legal under Russian law, they are violating American copyright. It's quid pro quo. If you want copyrights on your materials respected, you need to respect the copyrights others hold.

I got spam from a Russian web host company recently, blackspy.com I think. Not sure how I got on their list. It was targeted at people running for-profit websites and said mainstream porn sites were outdated and that their company could help set up Lolita and child pornography sites which are the profit centers of the future. The company also offered, for a fee, to shut down any website I wanted. Creeped me out.

There is a detailed review of LegalSounds and many other similar sites at www.songboom.com . If you're interested in these types of sites, take a look there for more info before putting your money on the line.

I've used LegalSounds .com for about 6 months they do'nt have everything but they have got loads of music. They are incredibly cheap have a very quick download service (provided you have a broad in the first place). And another plus point is unlike their competitors with an average 128 bit rate LegalSounds average 192 bits so the sound quality is awsom. And once you buy it its truly yours. They may not be the best best ther're pretty good. Other businesses sould take note that sometimes being fair and reasonable with price can pay off. I for one was prepaired to buy my music but not at the outragous prices available. I decided to try these guys, and I have have spent a lot money buying music from them and I don't feel like I just being ripped off afterwards...
